Creative Intelligence at Work

On Saturday, August 22, 2009 we held the four-hour workshop "Creative Intelligence at Work." It was a unique interactive seminar that inspired us to question and go beyond our current ways of thinking.  Ancient and modern meditative techniques were introduced to explore the mind "before thought" and as a means to tame the mind and harness its energy.  We facilitated creative exercises to shine light on our hidden creativity, so we could gain insights into areas where we can shift habits that hold us back from making the changes we desire.

Awaken Intuitive Insight

On Saturday, October 31, 2009 we held an all-day workshop "Awaken Intuitive Insight" in which we will learned how to connect with and trust what life is showing us.  We explored the magic of being in the moment and the meaning of coincidence.  We learned to “trust the process” and listen to the voice within as we played in creative arts and meditative, awareness, and visualization exercises. We had a special guest, Robert Chender from New York City, who will led us in some awareness exercises and readings.  Robert is a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and a senior teacher at the Shambhala Meditation Center of New York. He is also a student and practitioner of certain shamanic traditions, including the Munay-ki initiations of the Inca shamanic tradition. He serves as director of the Contemplative Lawyers Group of the NY City Bar Association and practices law in New York City.

Exploring Self-Expression

On February 6, 2010, we enjoyed a day of play and discovery in our workshop "Exploring Self-Expression," held at Studio@620, the innovative gallery and cultural center for the visual and performing arts in downtown St. Petersburg. We unleashed our creativity and tapped into natural talents and abilities through a variety of meditative, rhythmic, art and writing exercises. We worked with our obstacles to self-expression and learned how to identify and transform them, while exploring ways to express our imagination and authenticity.  The workshop showed us how creativity is more than the traditional arts and that it can be a way to add joy to our lives.

Living Fearlessly with an Open Heart

On July 31, 2010, we had a powerful experience exploring fears in our workshop "Living Fearlessly with an Open Heart", held at the Shambhala Meditation Center. We enjoyed a variety of meditative, art, and writing exercises and the opportunity for sharing in pairs and group circle. We explored our obstacles to an open heart and learned how to increase compassion for ourselves and others. The workshop addressed ways we can take down our walls and let the world touch us, and provided tools to work with the challenge of staying open.

Releasing Stress in Body and Mind

On November 20, 2010, we had a powerful experience in our workshop "Releasing Stress in Body and Mind," learning how to tap into our natural energy and wisdom to let go of the limiting stress of today's world.  We identified both the fears that lie behind our stress and our stress-relieving behaviors, learned the physiological impact of stress, energy medicine exercises to reduce the effects of stress, and used art processes to connect with our own body wisdom. We experienced meditative and contemplative techniques to apply to daily life to release us from the grip of overwhelm in order to synchronize body and mind.

Working with Emotional Energy

On Saturday, February 5, 2011 we held an all-day workshop "Working with Emotional Energy," in which we uncovered and learned how to transform a powerful and painful emotional pattern.  Emotional energy can be thought of as e-motion - energy in motion.  If you try to suppress or indulge this energy it creates more problems.  In this workshop we used meditative techniques, and creative and contemplative exercises and called upon all of the tools from our previous workshops--awareness, insight, self-expression, open heart and balance--to see how we can actually transform our reactive behavior, and improve our relationships with others and our world.
